À propos de cette pièce
OBSIDIAN is an intense black Moroccan zellige tile defined by its deep, glossy glaze and naturally varied handmade surface. Its color shifts subtly between obsidian black, deep charcoal and smoky graphite, creating a dramatic finish with the unmistakable depth and character of authentic zellige.
The beauty of OBSIDIAN lies in the natural variation between individual pieces. Differences in glaze intensity, texture and surface markings allow some tiles to appear almost velvety black while others develop softer charcoal reflections and silvery highlights. When installed together, these variations create a richly layered dark surface that changes beautifully with the surrounding light.
Each tile is individually handcrafted, glazed and hand-cut by skilled Moroccan artisans using traditional zellige techniques passed down through generations. Every piece is shaped and finished by hand, resulting in characteristic irregular edges, subtle differences in proportion and unique surface variations that distinguish authentic Moroccan zellige from machine-made tile.
