À propos de cette pièce
MAWJ, meaning wave, is a bold Moroccan zellige mosaic inspired by the rhythm, depth and changing tones of water.
Deep cobalt-blue and ivory bands create a strong vertical rhythm, while vivid turquoise accents interrupt the composition like flashes of light across the surface of the sea. The contrast between continuous lines and smaller blocks gives MAWJ a sense of movement, transforming a simple linear arrangement into a distinctive contemporary expression of Moroccan zellige.
Each tile is individually hand-cut from glazed ceramic, shaped and fitted by skilled craftsmen in Fez using techniques passed down through generations. The result is a unique piece of functional art, combining bold geometry, rich color and the unmistakable character of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship.
