À propos de cette pièce
QAWS, meaning arch, is a distinctive Moroccan zellige border inspired by the graceful curves and sculptural silhouettes of traditional Moorish architecture.
Deep teal-blue and warm ivory forms alternate in a rhythmic sequence, their curved profiles creating the impression of ornamental arches and architectural openings. Framed by linear borders above and below, the composition has a strong horizontal flow, while the contrast between cool blue and natural ivory gives QAWS a timeless and refined character.
Each tile is individually hand-cut from glazed ceramic, shaped and fitted by skilled craftsmen in Fez using techniques passed down through generations. The result is a unique piece of functional art, combining sculptural geometry, rich color and the unmistakable character of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship.
