À propos de cette pièce

COBALT is a rich blue Moroccan zellige tile defined by its intense cobalt glaze and naturally varied handmade surface. Its color shifts subtly between saturated royal blue, deep cobalt and softer mineral-blue tones, creating a bold surface with the unmistakable depth and character of authentic zellige.

The beauty of COBALT lies in the variation between individual pieces. Differences in glaze intensity, texture and surface markings allow each tile to reflect light in its own way, producing subtle changes in tone across the installation. When placed together, these variations create a deep, luminous field of blue that feels vibrant, timeless and distinctly handcrafted.

Each tile is individually handcrafted, glazed and hand-cut by skilled Moroccan artisans using traditional zellige techniques passed down through generations. Every piece is shaped and finished by hand, resulting in the characteristic irregular edges, subtle differences in proportion and unique surface variations that distinguish authentic Moroccan zellige from machine-made tile.

These differences are not imperfections, but essential characteristics of traditional Moroccan zellige and part of what makes every installation unique.
