À propos de cette pièce
HILAL, meaning crescent moon, is a striking Moroccan zellige mosaic inspired by the repeating curves and contrasting light of a moonlit sky.
Hand-cut scalloped forms alternate between deep charcoal-black and soft ivory, creating a rhythmic surface of overlapping crescents. The bold monochrome palette accentuates every curve, while the staggered arrangement gives HILAL a sense of movement reminiscent of rows of crescent moons appearing across the night sky.
Each tile is individually hand-cut from glazed ceramic, shaped and fitted by skilled craftsmen in Fez using techniques passed down through generations. The result is a unique piece of functional art, combining flowing geometry, bold contrast and the unmistakable character of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship.
