À propos de cette pièce
MISHKAT, meaning a niche for light, is a distinctive Moroccan zellige border inspired by the sculptural niches, lantern forms and repeating silhouettes found throughout traditional Moroccan architecture.
A procession of ornamental forms in deep navy, turquoise and warm ochre unfolds across a soft ivory background, mirrored above and below a central line of small black diamonds. The strong symmetry and alternating colors create a rhythmic architectural composition, while the central diamond details draw the eye across the design like a continuous decorative thread.
Each tile is individually hand-cut from glazed ceramic, shaped and fitted by skilled craftsmen in Fez using techniques passed down through generations. The result is a unique piece of functional art, combining expressive geometry, vibrant color and the unmistakable character of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship.
